Cross-Layer Approaches for TCP Improvement on Wireless Networks

Abstract: After a short introduction of the SIGNET group (standing for "from SIGnals to NETworks), I will briefly introduce the concept of cross-layer. Then, I will give an overview of the main cross-layer approaches devoted to enhance TCP on wireless networks, including the case of infrastructure based networks (3G-WiFi) and Mobile ad-hoc layers. In this overview, we will see that very simple cross-layer approaches significantly improve the TCP performance in this context. Nesta palestra, serão apresentadas as origens dos sinais de EEG e fMRI, os métodos de aquisição e análise desses sinais, e alguns resultados obtidos.
